Job summary

Through effective leadership, in-depth knowledge of the transportation industry - both technical and commercial, a proactive and innovative approach to relationships in this sector, and effective field prospecting, the Procurement & Solutions Consultant will develop and implement major initiatives leading to sales growth for Nordic's procurement department and integrated solutions.

 

As a creator of strategic solutions, the person will put forward missions for customer relationship management, prospecting then loyalty building, market penetration through regular visits, product presentations and the preparation of solution offers. Enough to stimulate the most adventurous.

Main responsibilities

  • Prospect for and identify new business opportunities in the supply sector for temperature-controlled transport fleets and other players in related sectors;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, as well as develop a new portfolio of potential customers;
  • Develop comprehensive strategies tailored to each customer's situation, based on a thorough analysis;
  • Provide accurate technical information and relevant, personalized advice on the various maintenance and repair parts for refrigeration units, accessories (e.g. solar recharging system) and workshop consumables (e.g. refrigerants);
  • Prepare and present competitive commercial offers, negotiating terms and conditions to close sales;
  • Ensure efficient follow-up of orders, from processing to delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction at every stage;
  • Work closely with the procurement department, passing on customer orders quickly and efficiently;
  • Analyze market trends, monitor competition and propose recommendations to improve sales performance;
  • Participate in conferences and other professional events to promote products and expand network of contacts;
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, technical specifications and industry innovations to remain competitive in the marketplace;
  • Inform customers about new products and promotions;
  • Assist managers (Sales and Parts) in developing strategies and promotions;
  • Work closely with the Account Manager at major and target customers.

Viking profile

  • Proven experience in technical and strategic sales approaches;
  • Outstanding ability to learn different technologies and industries;
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in French and English (for communication with our US-based business partner);
  • More than 3 years in a similar role (B2B technical outside sales), in a successful context;
  • Ability to draw up roadmaps to ensure effective, well-thought-out prospecting in the field;
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec transportation industry, an asset;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Quick understanding and learning of the industry and products;
  • Ability to resolve impasses quickly and efficiently;
  • Punctual and organized;
  • Ability to work in different environments (workshop, cafeteria, management office);
  • Creative and analytical mind.
